Our Projects - Walking Tours

Tavistock Heritage Trust has a programme of 26 local walks scheduled for every weekend from April to October 2024. These walks offer a variety of specified subjects in addition to a series of walks entitled ‘Discover Tavistock – a Heritage Introduction’ which gives a gentle overview of the history and heritage of Tavistock, Devon’s only World Heritage Site town. Other subjects covered are Tavistock Canal, abbey, railways, wharves, industrial heritage, churches, industrial heritage, C18 buildings by eminent architects, the history of Tavistock’s water supplies and a look at the darker side of Tavistock by twilight, in addition to a walk around Whitchurch village.

All walks are predominantly within the public domain and are mainly of 90 minutes duration unless otherwise specified. To book your place on the tours visit our events page for details of dates and tickets.
