
Attention all parents, grandparents and carers!
If you are involved in entertaining young folk in the school holidays, sometimes the February half term can be extra daunting. It can be cold and the weather a bit dreary, so outdoor activities can be difficult.
You probably already have your own roster of indoor activities; soft play, swimming, cinema........ why not add another one? - and it's FREE!* - half term activities designed and run by the Tavistock Heritage Trust (THT) Discovery Team
The Discovery Team play an important part in Tavistock Heritage Trust achieving it's educational objectives.
Every year they build an evocative programme of educational sessions for children, and their carers, that get them involved in Tavistock's history and heritage in a fun and engaging ways.

These sessions usually take place in the historic surroundings of the Tavistock Guildhall Court Room
The sessions are designed to dovetail with National Curriculum standards and content, and provide a session that allow children and their carers to work together in a workshop environment. The sessions are facilitated by highly experienced leaders.
This February half term the session focuses on Tavistock's mining heritage - with the theme of Rocks and Minerals.
Activities will include:
Designing a mine
Searching for gemstones
Making a miners helmet
Identifying different rocks
There's no need to book, just drop-in.
The session runs from 10:00 - 1300 and are FREE*
